Teresa Lopes
Teresa’s passion for movement began with a lifelong love of ballet and evolved into a deep commitment to Pilates and mindful bodywork. She has been teaching both mat and reformer Pilates for over 20 years and is certified in the STOTT Pilates method. Teresa began her teaching career in a physical therapy setting, where she developed a thoughtful, rehabilitative approach to movement.
During her time in the Midwest, she co-owned two Pilates studios—both before and after the pandemic—working with a wide range of clients. Her experience spans everything from supporting injury recovery and prevention (particularly for the back and shoulders), to training young dancers and athletes in safe, functional movement patterns.
Teresa is passionate about helping people move with greater strength, precision, and confidence. She finds deep fulfillment in guiding her clients toward doing what they love with more ease and joy.
In addition to her Pilates background, Teresa holds a 200-hour yoga certification from the Dharma Yoga Center in New York. She also has many years of Tai Chi practice and remains an avid student of anatomy and the science of functional movement.
